Position: Donor Relations Officer – Individual and Planned Giving

The philanthropy team at United Way Southern Vancouver Island (UWSVI) is growing, and we have an
amazing opportunity for someone early in their fundraising career to become a Donor Relations Officer
– Individual and Planned Giving. You will be supported and mentored by the Director of Development
as you learn and grow in this key fundraising and relationship management position.
Your excellent communication skills, empathy, and passion for supporting your community will be fully
utilized as you build and strengthen productive, trusting, and respectful relationships with a wide array
of donors and stakeholders. Your work as part of the Donor Relations team will maximize revenue
generation each year, and your previous experience delivering engaging presentations will be highly
beneficial. You will also be working closely with a dedicated team of volunteers, so prior experience
working collaboratively and respectfully with volunteers will be an asset.

What will make you successful?
- Post-secondary degree in Business Administration, Communications, or Public Relations, or an equivalent combination of training and experience, ideally in a non-profit environment
- Experience in relationship development, fundraising, sales, or marketing is required, and experience with dentifying, cultivating, and securing donations and legacy gifts from individuals in the $1k to $10K range is considered a strong asset
- High proficiency with Microsoft computer applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and strong CRM database management experience
- BC Driver’s License required
