We have an opportunity for an accomplished Major Gifts Officer with proven experience in annual giving, planned giving and multi-year giving ($5k+) to join the growing fundraising team at United Way Southern Vancouver Island (UWSVI). You will play a leading role in visioning, planning, establishing strategic direction and delivering the major gifts program, and will be responsible for managing a pipeline of 150-200 donors with a portfolio value of $1.5 million.

Our ideal candidate will bring a minimum of 5 years of experience working on Major Gift fundraising for a non-profit organization, with a proven track record of success. Your excellent communication skills and strong relationship building abilities will be required to successfully manage a robust pipeline of major donors and to provide leadership on fundraising strategies that enhance revenue development, grow the number of donors, and position UWSVI as a social impact leader and charity of choice for individual donors, corporate partners, and high net worth individuals.

What will make you successful?

  • Post-secondary degree in Business Administration, Communications, or Public Relations, or an equivalent combination of training and experience in a non-profit environment
  • Certified Fund-Raising Executive (CFRE) designation an asset
  • 5+ years of senior fundraising experience, including a track record of achieving revenue targets, experience facilitating multi-year gifts, and demonstrated experience managing major gift and legacy gift commitments at the $5k-$100k level
  • High proficiency with Microsoft computer applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and strong CRM database management experience
  • BC Driver’s License required
