Community Service Organizations can apply from January 6, 2023 until February 21, 2023.
United Way Southern Vancouver Island is proud to be taking part in the Community Services Recovery Fund, a collaboration between United Way Centraide Canada, Canadian Red Cross, and Community Foundations of Canada to provide funding to Community Service Organizations, including non-profit organizations, Indigenous governing bodies, and Registered Charities located across Canada. The Community Services Recovery Fund responds to what charities and non-profits need right now and supports organizations as they adapt to the long-term impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Projects funded under the Community Services Recovery Fund will work within one of the Project Focus Areas below. Although some projects may touch on more than one Project Focus Area, eligible organizations are asked to select one focus area that best relates to the main intention of their project:
- Investing in Program and Service Innovation and Redesign:Funding will support one-time projects primarily focused on program and service innovation and redesign using information gained during the COVID-19 pandemic. This project focus area will be supported by United Way Southern Vancouver Island.
- Investing in People: Funding will support one-time projects that focus on how organizations recruit, retain, engage and support their personnel, including staff, volunteers and boards of directors. This project focus area will be supported by the Canadian Red Cross.
- Investing in Systems and Processes: Funding will support one-time projects that invest in the systems and processes involved in creating the internal workings of an organization’s overall structure. This project focus area will be supported by the Victoria Foundation.
For UWSVI’s CSRF funding stream, non-qualified donees can apply in partnership with a trustee organization that is an eligible qualified donee.
