MEDIA ADVISORY – UWSVI does NOT Solicit Donations Door-to-Door

Victoria, BC (January 9, 2024)United Way Southern Vancouver Island (UWSVI) is alerting the public that it does not solicit or ask for donations door-to-door.

UWSVI’s primary channel for accepting donations is through its secure online donation portal, on the official UWSVI website, at

Residents of the Southern Vancouver Island region should exercise caution if individuals arrive at their doorstep claiming to represent United Way Southern Vancouver Island and ask for donations. This is not a standard practice for the organization.

UWSVI has communicated this information to local police agencies.
