United Way Southern Vancouver Island Unbottles an Easy Donation Opportunity

October 18, 2023 / by United Way

Victoria, BC (October 18, 2023) – As we reach the last few weeks of October, United Way Southern Vancouver Island (UWSVI) reminds people in the Victoria region that it is Bottle Depot’s charity of choice for the month.

All proceeds from bottles dropped into the charity bins at participating Bottle Depot locations will be provided to UWSVI.

Bottle Depot makes it easy for people to participate.

Simply drop your refundable beverage containers into the “CHARITY DONATION BIN” outside one of three local Bottle Depot locations:

  • 655 Queens Ave.
  • 4261 Glanford Ave.
  • 3961 Quadra St.

Considerate consumers can also walk the bottles inside to hand them to a teller at these Bottle Depot locations, letting them know they’re for United Way Southern Vancouver Island.

Proceeds will contribute to UWSVI’s 2023 community fundraising campaign of $5 million. Funds from the campaign will support UWSVI’s three Areas of Action: seniors, families, and people with mental health and addictions challenges – all critical issues in Southern Vancouver Island.

UWSVI urges people to reduce, reuse, and recycle whenever feasible, supporting an environmentally sustainable lifestyle. This month, the benefit of recycling at Bottle Depot includes an easy, foolproof way to support a local charity that is doing good work in your great community.
